SLR PHOTOGRAPHY

OCT 2021
ZENIT-B - INDUSTAR 50.
Notes: First time using the SLR, the first 4 photos came out fine, the rest remain over-exposed, from changing the setting for a darker area, and forgetting to reset it like a klutz, created an interesting .gif with the overexposed photos.

ZENIT-B -  SOLINGOR xxxx
Notes: First time with the new wide-angle lens, as well as my first attempt at souping a film reel, (Red Wine) I started to find my interests in composition on objects above me, contrasting the colour of light blue sky, and further get a feel for the focusing and aperture for the camera. I also enjoy the warmth the camera can provide with the photos and the wine gave the film a slight dreamy tint to the colouring of the photos during development.

ZENIT-B - INDUSTER 50 + SOLINGOR
Notes: Heading into a new year exploring differences in lenses and settings, contrasting between the sharp angular configuration of the city, and the free and natural formation of forests and fungus'

Some attempts of handheld long-exposure shots and difficulty with lighting in the forests settings are found here as well as the Industar lenses' gritty form when taking photos.

ZENIT-E, SOLINGOR WIDE ANGLE LENS.
Notes: This is one of my favoiriute reels I have shot so far. This was shot mainly in Bury Marketds and Manchester city centre. I found the shades and light are important when shooting black and white film, and discovered the impact of contrast when colour is not present.

ZENIT-B, LENS. SOLINGOR WIDE ANDLGE
Notes: I used a method called souping which is the process of submerging the film canister in a liquid substance with some acidity for some time to warp the colours and add adverse effects to the film.

For this reel I submerged it in lime juice with red food dye mixed in, and dripped blue food dye into it.

The effects you can see are the process of souping, such as odd lighting, the dreamy like tint to the photos and highlighted spots in the middle of the photos.

I will be exploring this process again sometime as I really enjoy even more of the unexpected and improvised nature of the souping process.

ZENIT-B, LENS. SOLINGOR WIDE ANDLGE
Notes: I purchased a new telescopic lense and was eager in trying out it out. With this large zoom I was able to take closer up shots, and take photos of things with more detail in which I couldn't with my wide angle lense. You can see for example the geese and the cranes the extent of what I wanted to explore, ideas of regualar photography or aniumals to trying to find a more surreal styled photos.

I also was working on taking photos of graffiti on a collection of tags that have apperaed in and around manchester of a questiuon mark with different designs, this is something I have been keeping into mind especially when it comes to a project I ahve been planning out calledc "who is morb?" a video docusmetory looking into graffiti taggins and interveiws usisng my own sources.
